Style we like: Maxi things

Hi everyone, how are you all doing?  I cannot believe the weekend is almost here, this week has been very busy for me and I cannot wait to start this weekend.  The past weekends have also been very busy ones.  Helping my cousin at her 'chilanga mulilo'.  She is a good friend and my daughters God mother.  It was well organised and she looked soo preety.

She wore this Vibrant orange maxi skirt. This skirt was actually high waisted and she paired it with a chitenge tie-bow headband, a yellow/mustad top, orange pumps, pearl earrings and a small jersey.  Simple but nice.  This outfit was made by another friend i have known for some years now(Zambian designer -Musha)  http://www.facebook.com/?ref=tn_tnmn#!/musha.phiri

A Chilanga Mulilo is a cultural/traditional event, during which the family of a bride-to-be present a number of traditional dishes to the groom and his family at the grroms home. In essence, it's a declaration of the different types of food he can expect his wife to be preparing in their home and the ones that the brides family prepare at home.The occassion is characterised by drumming and traditional dancing and singing by her family and freinds.
